In April of 2024, the Grand Rapids Song Festival organizers coordinated a Logo Launch and Lounge, which included a canned food drive. About 50 people from the local community attended to hear updates as well as be the first to see the event logo revealed! The beautiful logo was designed by Larisa Simsons. We also collected boxes and boxes of canned and boxed foods to support the Downtown Food Pantry. Our community values helping those who are in need, just as our parents and grandparents received much needed help when they emigrated to the area.
Logo contest and reveal
Updates included the announcement of the official Festival logo. The Committee decided to run a two month long open design contest for the Festival. In total, 18 design works were submitted from all over the world: the US, Canada, Germany and Latvia!
The winning design, as selected by the Marketing Co-directors and Executive Committee is the follow design by Larisa Simsons of Hamilton, ON! Her website with other design work can be visited here.
Food Drive
The Organizing Committee also invited participants to bring donations for a food drive. Meijer has become a supporting partner of the Festival, and brought the donations of the food drive to benefit Downtown Food Panty, a donating partner of Meijer.
